Decomposition kinetics of the AlH3 polymorphs
Article Abstract:
The kinetics of the aluminum hydride polymorphs (alpha-AlH3, beta-AlH3 and gamma-AlH3) are controlled by nucleation and growth in two and three dimensions and are not limited by H2 diffusion through a surface oxide. The decomposition of the AlH3 occurs in complexes of approximately nine molecules, or 1-2 unit cells for alpha-AlH3.

Mechanochemical synthesis and crystal structures of [alpha']-Al[D.sub.3] and [alpha]-Al[D.sub.3]
Article Abstract:
The synthesis and crystal structures of [alpha']-Al[D.sub.3] and [alpha]-al[D.sub.3] are described. The results have shown that modifications of Al[D.sub.3] have slightly shorter Al-D distances when compared to [Na.sub.3]Al[D.sub.6], [Na.sub.2]LiAl[D.sub.6] and [K.sub.2]NaAl[H.sub.6].

Structure and dynamics of self-assembling aluminum didodecyl phosphate organogels
Article Abstract:
A self-assembled organogel of aluminum isopropoxide and didodecyl phosphate surfactant in decane is studied as a function of the ratio of aluminum:surfactant. The rheology and structure is shown to depend sensitively on the aluminum:surfactant ratio.
